Famine, drought will get worse if steps aren't taken: Khusro Bakhtiar
Strategy to resolve energy crisis will be developed
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Water Resources Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar on Friday said that if emergency steps are not taken, problems such as famine and drought will deteriorate.
During meeting with Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) chairman Lt Gen Muzammil Hussain, federal minister was briefed about water and power projects which are in progress.
However, the minister also discussed Diamer Basha, Dasu, Karam Tangi Dam projects with WAPDA chairman, on the other hand, situations of water reservoirs in all four provinces were remained under consideration during congregation.
Besides all these, Federal Minister for Water Resources stated that the strategy to resolve energy crisis will be developed; and to choose the alternative sources of energy are indispensible if we want to triumph over energy crises, while talking about solution of water resources, new water basins must be insured, he further added.
